Our last athlete to join the Support 4 Sport team is Fencing competitor Bruno Ferguson. Bruno began his journey into the world of fencing when he was in year six and has now been participating in the sport for the past five years. Bruno competes on behalf of the Hutt Valley Fencing Club which frequently trains at the Avalon Softball club in Fraser Park, Lower Hutt. While Bruno knew Fencing was not the most popular sport in New Zealand, he said the passion and thrill of the bouts are what makes him love Fencing that much more.
One of his sporting goals for 2019 is to compete in the next Junior Commonwealth Games. So, Bruno tells us that he is very excited to get this sponsorship as he knows Wellington Sports Med and Willis Street Physiotherapy can help athletes deal with their ailments and develop strategies to prevent future injuries. We are so excited to bring a greater spotlight to the Fencing community and look forward to supporting Bruno in achieving his sporting dreams.
